Relax.  Take a second to breathe.  This instant you can change your life better, you just need to find the right tools to succeed.

So given this cold weather out in New Jersey, all I’m focused on is booking a good vacation and taking a break.  But anyone who travels knows that booking it isn’t the only stress.  The packing and organizing is just as hard especially if you want to take everything (like me!).  So on the blog today, I’m giving some tips to help organize your bag and what to fit in!

Travel Essentials

The Bag

Depending on your method of travel, you are going to need a different bag.  If you are flying, you are most likely going to want a TSA-friendly luggage to carry on.  And if you’re not flying, you may want a duffel bag to fit in the car.  Either way, you want a cute, convenient, and affordable bag to take along.

Rectangular Luggage

So a few cute options…most of which that are on sale.  And the best part about using this type of luggage is the capability to wheel them along.  No need to look like a “bag lady” going to and from your home!

 Duffels

Vera Bradley and Henri Bendel duffels are my go-to bags for traveling!

Vera Bradley Duffel

The Vera Bradley duffels are nice and light, so you can pack pretty much whatever you want.  All you need to do is to maneuver the clothing and squash the bag a little, and you can fit a lot… The only problem is if you buy a lot to take home! (haha!)

Henri Bendel Duffel

A bit more expensive, but well worth the cost.  You may not be able to pack as much as in the Vera Bradley tote bag, but for the look of it you won’t mind.  This duffel is much classier and sophisticated to take along!

Luggage Packing Cubes

Travel Essentials

Once you got the bag, it’s time to get the clothes ready and pack!  While you can throw everything in and squash the bag down, once you get somewhere, you really don’t want to be rummaging through your bag.  So to stay organized, get luggage packing cubes for less than $25!

What’s great about this set is the fact that you can pick whatever color you want (pink, lavender, blue, etc).  This allows you to choose a different color for each family member, and make sure you stay organized throughout your stay.  It allows you the capability to zip a bunch of panties, bralettes, or socks into a separate case.  And allows you to grab what you need rather than being a slave to your unorganized travel bag.

P.S. You can read my luggage scale review here!

The Clothing

This is the fun part.  Once you decided on the bag and the travel cubes, it’s time to shop.  Using a bit of the money you saved, you can shop the sales and buy a new outfit that you want!  Here are my picks for what to buy-bikinis, shoes, dresses, and pjs!

Bikinis

I love mixing and matching when it comes to two-piece swimsuits!  By mixing pieces throughout your vacation, you can basically put together a different look without carrying along much of anything!

The Shoes

My mom and I love Cole Haan shoes.  They are cute and comfortable unlike many shoes there are to own.  The heels are great to wear, especially if you are a “newby,” and the sandals are great for walking all day long (I know from experience!).

The Dresses

You guessed it…Lilly Pulitzer!  Since this line is on major sale this week, it comes to less than $80 dollars per dress!  What I love the most about this line is the casual, yet fun feel.  With these dresses, you don’t need to accessorize much!

Pjs

I depend on Hollister for the majority of my sleepwear.  It’s cute and comfortable, and so affordable on sale!

The Rest

So you got the bag, the luggage cubes, and the clothes, but there’s a few things you still need.  Don’t forget these below!

  • Toothpaste/Toothbrush
  • Deodorant
  • Makeup
  • License/Passport
  • Phone Charger & Phone
  • Advil/Aleve/Tylenol/Prescriptions
  • Contacts/Eyeglasses
  • Hair Products: Ponytails, Blowdryers, and Other Hot-Tools
  • Light Reading: Magazines, Book, Amazon Fire, etc.
  • Snacks? (Save 25% off at Thrive Market for Single Serve Snacks!)
  • Sunscreen!!!!
  • Handbag

The End

Stop feeling stuck and make the changes you keep wishing to make everyday.  Your life is happening now, so just get on to doing it today!  Whether it’s a vacation you WANT to book, or a lifestyle change you WANT to make, just take a step at a time to get there today!
